From traditional stop-motion to state-of-the-art special effects, we profile 3D animation in all its forms...

From the masterful ‘traditional’ puppet animation of Barry Purves, through the history of UK’s best-loved stop-motion studio, Aardman Animations – to the very specialised, triple-Oscar world of Randy Cook, Director of Animation for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the art of 3D animation is laid bare at this year’s Bradford Animation Festival. And if you can’t wait to try it for yourself, you can join one of the special workshop tryout sessions taking place at the University of Bradford.
